A recent development includes the hospital joining the International Affiliate Network, becoming the first Affiliated Hospital Group in Europe. Additionally, two honorary consultants have been appointed as senior investigators by the National Institute of Health and Care Research.

The hospital is monitored against national standards and targets known as performance indicators. They provide an overview of how successful the hospital is at delivering healthcare. The hospital is also regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

I visited the hospital twice for treatment and cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness, willingness to support, and availability. The wards are comfortable, clean, and spacious. I feel lucky to live near one of the best hospitals in the country.
