The origins of the estate remain debated, but it is believed to have been built by a Welsh notable in the early fifteenth century. The estate was once home to descendants of a King of Glamorgan, and legend even suggests connections to King Arthur and Queen Guinevere.

The stately banqueting hall boasts original stone walls, a vaulted ceiling, and a roaring log fire. It can accommodate up to 100 seated and 160 standing guests, with options for different seating arrangements. Marquees are also available for larger events, located within the orchard.
